Reese's at the movies [giveaway]

What do you like to eat at the movies? I love soft pretzel bites with mustard for dipping, as long as I don't spill on myself. I'm also a sucker for peanut butter even though it upsets my stomach :(

Suicide Squad comes out in a week, and here's the most recent trailer for it. My wife is actually interested, which surprises me, but Batman's in there so there you go.

I've gathered up five (5) packages of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, and rather than hoard them for myself (and make myself sick) I'm giving them away to one lucky Giveaway Guy reader! The giveaway is available to those in the U.S.

I also have a bunch of other giveaways going on, so check 'em out! If you like candy at the movie theater, you might wanna check out my movie tickets giveaway.

TallSlim Tees - shirts for the tall folks [review]

You're tall. You deserve a shirt that fits well. Do you get the shirt that fits your chest and shoulders but is too short? Or do you get the shirt that is long enough but too big everywhere else?

You don't have to ask yourself those questions anymore thanks to TallSlim Tees.

At 6'5" and on the lean side (200 lbs.), my experience with shirts in particular has been hit and miss. Often they can be too big around the stomach, or the shirt's sleeves are too short. It's rare I find something that fits absolutely perfectly.

But TallSlim Tees is a brand I like! And if you're tall then you might too. It makes me happy that I can browse everything they carry and know that something will fit just right. The shirts come in a variety of sizes, styles, and colors for men 6'0" to 7'0." Sorry, ladies, nothing for you yet.

Typically I'm an XL shirt, but a L fits perfect.

TallSlim Tees was founded in 2014 by Dan Deceuster after years of frustration with t-shirt sizes (much like the frustration of my own), and designed a custom t-shirt specifically for tall, lean men like myself. Here's what Dan has to say:

“I took 17 different measurements of every part of my t-shirts. With that I figured out the dimensions of the perfect shirt for me. I had this shirt made and it fit more comfortably than anything I had ever worn. So I decided to use my design to start a line of shirts designed specifically for guys who are tall and skinny like I am.”

One of the shirts I have is the tall v-neck in royal blue pictured above, the original and top-selling v-neck t-shirt made from a 50/50 cotton polyester blend. It's soft, lightweight, and fits like a dream (don't forget to check the sizing chart). This v-neck is designed specifically for slim & tall men looking for a tailored fit. It kinda hugs your figure so don't be shy now.

Festus Ezeli, pro NBA player, is 6'11" and rocks the XL comfortably.

Another shirt I'd like to showcase is the tall pique polo. Wear it to the office or to the golf course - gotta have light colors when you're playing under the sun. I've got it un-tucked here so you can see that it runs nice and long.

I usually wear an XL polo everyday to work. Now I can wear a L.

It's a comfortable polo shirt and made from durable fabric - 65% cotton and 35% polyester. It's strong, yet flexible with the same great fit you'd expect from the other TallSlim Tees.

Browse around the shop and you're bound to find something you like. Oh, and 2-day USPS Priority shipping in the U.S. is FREE! There's no catch. Shipping is free and I might add a couple more shirts to my collection.

Disclosure: I was provided a complimentary product in exchange for my review. All opinions are my own.

Pique Tea = ancient tradition + modern science [review]

June was National Iced Tea Month, but every month is good for tea! Have you ever tried tea crystals?

Pique Tea is a cross between ancient tradition and modern science, a proprietary process that slow brews whole leaf tea, extracting flavor and nutrients, locking it in a crystal form. Pique also offers tea ware that is functional and contemporary, like the canteen below.

The folks at Pique are committed to helping you make smarter drink choices by making tea an easy option. Tea is easy to prepare, has antioxidants, and obviously tastes great. One cup at a time, Pique is making a meaningful impact on our health.

The tea crystals are packaged into little single-serving packs, perfect for a cup of tea wherever you are. And you can enjoy the crystals with hot or cold water. Just open up the pack, dump the crystals in your cup, and add water. The pack is a little bigger than a stick of gum so it's pretty easy to stick it in a pocket or your purse.

There are five varieties of black and green teas - Earl Grey, English Breakfast, Jasmine, Mint Sencha, and Sencha. No preservatives, artificial flavors, or sugar. It's all natural!

My wife really likes Earl Grey, and since she's always rushing in and out of the house, taking crystals on the go is convenient. Here's what Pique has to say about their tea's origin:

Our delicious Earl Grey is made from the finest Organic and Fair Trade certified leaves from the world-renowned Idulgashinna Estate in the Uva region in eastern Sri Lanka. A really special area, at 3,300-6,500 feet in elevation, the Uva region receives tons of rain in winter very strong, dry winds in late summer. This garden produces a very smooth cup with light fruity hints and delicate pungency. The finish is long and clean, with a hint of fresh-cut pine and a nice accent of orange zest.

Furthermore, Pique also offers a canteen which is made by Corkcicle. I recently had the pleasure of trying this canteen (it's more of a bottle to me), which is nine ounces and keeps your drink cold for 25 hours or warm for 12. It's only available in matte gray, but I really like it.

9 oz canteen

Theoretically, I could bring hot tea in my Corkcicle canteen to start my work day, and on the way home it would still be warm.

The stainless steel with proprietary triple insulation prevents outside temperature from affecting the inside, and that's how it maintains the temperature of the drink for so many hours. Because it's stainless steel it's a bit heavy for nine ounces, but I like the heaviness. It's not easy to knock over, especially when full.

If you like tea cool stuff in the Pique Tea shop to check out. Treat yourself!

Solar is a no-brainer. Get a FREE quote from SolarCity!

Homeowners all over New England are having amazing experiences installing brand new solar systems with Jennifer Richtsmeier - my beautiful wife - and a Field Energy Consultant with SolarCity!

Jennifer meets with homeowners and talks about the benefits and truths of going solar. Many people initially think you have to pay for the panels, but you don't have to. There are two options:

  • If you want to own the panels, take out a 10-year solar loan.
  • If you don't want to own the panels, take out a free 20-year lease and simply buy the power off of them. Get a free quote!

SolarCity is by far the largest residential solar installer across the country, and did you know that Elon Musk is the Chairman of the Board? I'll also have you know that 80-90% of homeowners lease their solar systems so that they don't have to pay any upfront costs.

Once the system gets installed the only responsibility for the homeowner is to pay their new electric bill to SolarCity, which is typically 30-50% less than an average bill.

You will stay connected to the grid, but it will serve as your backup power source since you may not be able to produce 100% of the power your home needs with just solar. For example, let's say your monthly electrical usage is 800 kWh. Whatever your solar panels aren't able to generate, the difference comes from the grid.

This sounds like a no-brainer, doesn't it? Save energy and money.

When you install a solar system it eliminates the cost of having to deliver electricity to your home the traditional way (from a power plant that can be dozens of miles away), that the utility company charges you for.

Not only are solar systems beneficial to your wallet, but they're also a win for lowering your carbon footprint. Last year the U.S. recorded the hottest year on record. Climate change is real!

This past December, many of the "one percent-ers" of the world met in Paris to create and sign what is appropriately titled the Paris Agreement. This agreement is a set of policies and guidelines created by world leaders, billionaires, and climate change experts that will help prevent further global warming of our planet and depletion of our ozone.

Jennifer would love to hear from you no matter where in the U.S. you live! Get a FREE quote or email her at jrichtsmeier@solarcity.com. Believe me when I tell you she loves what she does and it shows!

There are absolutely zero downsides to going solar. There are more than one million solar systems installed across the U.S. and there needs to be more! Countries like Germany and Sweden are way ahead of us when it comes to renewables, so we have some catching up to do. We have a responsibility to ourselves, to our children, and to future generations to take care of everything around us.

New music in 2016 & iTunes gift card giveaway

Any noteworthy album releases coming soon? As of right now, Gojira's Magma is my favorite release of 2016 so far. I'm also waiting for Devin Townsend's new stuff.

Video for "Stranded" off Gojira's Magma

Another band that just released a new album is Revocation, who call Boston home. They have a practice space immediately next door to my office (like 10 feet separate the buildings), so sometimes I hear 'em which is a cool perk for a fan.

Revocation's Great Is Our Sin documentary

Anyhow, you probably don't care for my taste in music!

I have a $25 iTunes gift card that I won from a giveaway that The Cancer Couch Foundation was hosting, and I'm gonna give it to one lucky Giveaway Guy reader. What album would you like to buy?

I also have a bunch of other giveaways going on, so check 'em out! Keeping in the theme of music, you might wanna check out my Apple earbuds giveaway.

Gojira - Magma [review]

I've been holding myself over with Gojira's new album, Magma, while I wait for the next Devin Townsend release and I've realized something.

Damn, Magma is good. Maybe my favorite album in 2016 so far.

I stopped buying CDs long ago, but broke the streak when I picked up Adele's 25 earlier this year. And I'm all over Gojira's Magma now too. Feels good to pop the disc in and enjoy the experience.

What I'd really like is to play this album on vinyl to hear what that's like, but I don't have a turntable yet. No idea if my wife will even allow it!

I read somewhere that Joe and Mario Duplantier's mom wasn't doing well right around the time they were recording Magma, so they put everything on hold, rightfully so. I don't know what it was from, but their mom passed away and this probably had an influence on how the songs were written, recorded, etc.

I can't imagine the grief those guys were feeling, but I can sense the emotion. And some depression too. "Low Lands" in particular makes me feel this way.

The album is a bit of a stylistic change in comparison to the rest of Gojira's catalog, including atmospheric sounds and clean vocals. Not every song is like this obviously. When I first listened to the entire album, I'll admit I wasn't very impressed. I thought, "Wow, the second half of this is pretty weak."

The first single, "Stranded," gives you a good taste of what to expect. It's also one of my favorites.

Video for "Stranded" off Gojira's Magma

And then I gave the album another run-through, and another, and another, and now I'm absolutely hooked on the entire thing. Magma is a great blend of heavy riffs, Joe's killer vocals, slower & groovier stuff, atmospheric sound, and more of the classic Gojira sounds we all know and love.

As many others have said, you really do need to give this a few listens before you can appreciate it. Usually that's what people say when an album sucks, but not this time. But maybe it will suck depending who you are.

I still think this is a strong release, with the first six songs in particular, but give it a chance for yourself. At the very least, new music from these guys has encouraged me to watch their live shows, get into older stuff, and things of that nature. I'm glad Joe and the boys are back.

Interesting live performance in black and white.

Amazon gift card & High Density polo shirt [giveaway]

I'm a sucker for a good polo shirt since I wear one almost on a daily basis, and I've got a relatively unheard of brand that needs to be heard.

High Density represents the spirit of adventure and intensity that emboldens a daring spirit. Kelly (pilot & owner) has a mission to provide quality apparel for pilots and enthusiasts with a passion for an active, adventurous, and spirited lifestyle.

The High Density Signature Series shirt was created for pilots and enthusiasts, but anyone can enjoy it just like I am. And I'm not a pilot, but it would be cool to fly.

HD Signature Series short sleeve polo shirts

The polo shirt offers casual comfort with style and purpose. It's pretty comfortable I have to say, and it's a great golf or tennis shirt too (especially the white).

Made of 100% Peruvian pique cotton, the shirt has a different texture than typical cotton, which is the result of a specific weaving process. Pique cotton is also a classic material for polo shirts, and people sometimes associate polos with that fabric.

I've got the white shirt, and both colors are trademarked with a little orange windsock logo (ever see an airport windsock?). The shirt also has a subtly distinct pen pocket on the sleeve, which is kinda unique since it's not common for short sleeves to have pockets on them. I like it.

Such a handsome guy sporting the Signature Series polo.

Take flight with High Density! Who wants to win something?

Kelly of High Density and I have partnered up to give away a couple items - one lucky Giveaway Guy reader will win a polo shirt in the color of their choice ($120 value), and another reader will win a $20 Amazon gift card.

Joe DeSena’s new book Spartan Fit! is coming out August 2nd and it'll be on my "to read" list for sure. It's the sequel to Joe's international bestseller, Spartan Up!

Melissa Storm is a mother first, and everything else second, including an established romance author. She used to write under a pseudonym, but finally had the confidence to come out as herself to the world.

Melissa's fiction is highly personal and often based on true stories. Writing is her way of showing her daughter just how beautiful life can be, when you pay attention to the everyday wonders that surround us.

The latest release in Melissa Storm's collection is She Will Be Loved (as shown above), a feel-good romance novel with no sex and no swearing - just an honest love that develops between Luke and Mandy. In this book you'll find fate, redemption, hope, and it's available as an eBook on Amazon.

Melissa's also promoting the sale of her Cupid's Bow First Generation Collection, which is available on Amazon, and super affordable at 99 cents for the ebook! You can also get it in paperback.

Who wants a couple Cinemark passes?

Any good movies coming out? I thought summer is supposed to be the season for blockbusters, but there hasn't been much that excites me.

However, I do kinda want to see Finding Dory. I'm fascinated with ocean stuff even though I legitimately have thalassophobia (fear of the sea). Finding Nemo was great and I think Finding Dory will be good too, so it's on my list.

Ellen DeGeneres voices Dory, blue tang fish who suffers from memory loss. The one thing she remembers is that she somehow became separated from her parents as a baby fish. With help from her friends Nemo and Marlin, Dory embarks on an epic adventure to find her parents.

I have two Cinemark passes that I won from a giveaway that a mall in Ohio was hosting, and the passes are valid for free admission at any box office. I'm gonna give 'em to one lucky Giveaway Guy reader. What movie do you wanna see?

I also have a bunch of other giveaways going on, so check 'em out! Keeping in the theme of movies, you might wanna check out my Independence Day giveaway.

$50 Amazon gift card & American Tall dress shirts [giveaway]

You're tall. You appreciate personal style and fashion. You deserve designs that fit well. The game has officially changed and American Tall has heard your plea.

At 6'5" tall and on the lean side (200 lbs.), my experience finding clothes that fit has been frustrating to say the least. Pants are not long enough, or the waist is too big, or the shirt's sleeves are too short. It's rare I find something that fits perfectly.

But American Tall is the perfect brand for me! It makes me happy that I can browse everything they carry and know that my size is in stock. These guys specialize in dress pants and dress shirts designed for tall men who are 6'3" to 7'1" and more on the lean side than the big side. If you're tall and lanky like I am, look no further.

I've got the tall dress shirt pictured both above and below in the wine color (I might call it lavender), known as the Oskar. It's designed specifically for slim & tall men looking for a tailored fit, kinda showing your figure. Not baggy at all.

Made from a fine dobby weave of cotton with a touch of spandex, the shirt drapes and stretches in just the right places. I like to wear it with the neck unbuttoned, but it's good with a tie too. Wear it to the office or a wedding and either way it looks great. To say it's a comfortable dress shirt would be an understatement. Super comfy and lightweight.

Model Measures: 6'7", 220 lbs, 36" waist, 38" sleeve

And let's not forget the pants. American Tall carries a collection of dress pants as well a couple pairs of denim jeans. I've had the pleasure of trying the D2N dress pants and they're my new favorite pants. These babies have a long, slim-straight look with classic 5 pocket-styling.

Model Measures: 6'7", 220 lbs, 36" waist

Now, in the picture the pants look a bit stiff, but they are not. They're actually very, very lightweight and a bit stretchy too. I haven't done this yet, but wearing them for golf will be absolutely perfect. So don't be deceived by the picture - the D2Ns are very lightweight and breathable since they're made of 5.5 oz stretch nylon.

This particular pair in the stone color can be matched with the D2N Casual Blazer on the site too. Browse around and you're bound to find something you like.

So who wants to win something? The guys at American Tall and I have partnered up to give away a couple items - one lucky Giveaway Guy reader will win an Oskar dress shirt of their choice ($65 value) and another reader will win a $50 Amazon gift card.

Shady Rays aviator sunglasses [giveaway]

Summer is really starting to heat up now (94 today), and the sun is roasting. Some sunglasses with UVB protection, and maybe classic style, would be great right about now...

Remember the Shady Rays giveaway last year? We're doing it again! With durability and classic style, you'll find the perfect pair at Shady Rays. From their signature series to the classic aviator series, there’s a lot to like.

While the overall selection won't blow you away in size, there really isn't a pair I don't like. Shady Rays are also affordable and won't break the bank, which is important in order to be competitive in the eye wear market.

In addition to the wayfarer style (shown above, which I also have), I'm also a fan of Shady Rays' aviator chrome sunglasses. The lenses are mirrored with crystal clear visibility, UV400 protection, and you don't get glare. The glasses also come with a microfiber pouch for storage so they don't get scratched and whatnot.

And these aviators are sharp! They sit comfortably, fit even large heads like mine (hey, I've got a big brain), and they're stylin'.

Furthermore, you can get a free replacement if your sunglasses are lost or broken for any reason. Any reason at all. You just need to pay a few dollars for shipping, which is a great deal if you ask me. So browse the Shady Rays shop and check out the designs.

Now... who wants a pair?! The folks at Shady Rays have again been gracious enough to offer up any pair of sunglasses to one lucky Giveaway Guy reader.

Welcome to Earth! Independence Day giveaway

Independence Day is back with a sequel and it's in theaters right now! Will you see it? I might.

The original movie was a classic, man. I've seen it many times. Ever pretend to battle against aliens as a kid? Independence Day made that become somewhat of a reality.

One of my favorite parts of the movie:

Mysterious aliens launch an invasion against the human race. Massive space ships appear in Earth's skies and wonder turns to terror as the ships blast destructive beams of fire down on cities all over the planet. The world's only hope lies with a determined band of survivors...

In celebration of the holiday and a classic movie, up for grabs for one lucky Giveaway Guy reader is Independence Day on DVD.

Blueberry Month & Green Mountain Coffee giveaway

This time last year I did a giveaway for blueberry coffee. It's National Blueberry Month again! You have all July to celebrate and seek out everything blueberry.

Head to the store and check out the great values on fresh blueberries. July is peak blueberry season and the quality and prices are favorable for shoppers this time of year. Take advantage of it!

I've you've never done it before, I recommend heading to the nearest u-pick farm and pick your own blueberries. You can learn about blueberry farming, pick the exact berries you want, and enjoy them fresh off the bush.

Or if you like things handed to you (don't we all?), I have a box of Green Mountain Coffee to give away, and it's the wild mountain blueberry flavor! The giveaway is available to everyone worldwide.
Here's a little more about the blueberry coffee:
  • Contains 24 K-cups
  • Flavor of sun-kissed wild blueberries with just a hint of caramel sweetness
  • Trans fat, kosher and gluten free
  • K-cup perfect for Keurig Single Cup Brewers
  • K-cups also compatible with new Keurig 2.0 Brewer

I also have a bunch of other giveaways going on, including a Larabar variety pack that contains blueberry bars! All giveaways are listed on the right side of my blog.

Enter to win using the Rafflecopter form below. You may share on Twitter once a day for extra points for the duration of the giveaway.
