Nantucket Brand coastal inspired clothing & $100 gift card [giveaway]

There once was a man from Nantucket
Who kept all his cash in a bucket.
But his daughter, named Nan,
Ran away with a man
And as for the bucket, Nantucket.

That limerick is from 1902, and there have been a few R-rated versions since then.

I came across Nantucket Brand Clothing recently on my way down a rabbit hole of giveaways. NBC exudes classic, preppy style in its collection of men's and women's clothing and accessories, offering an island style to everyone. If you live on the coast like me, you probably appreciate a few oceanfront styles.

From colorful shorts, skirts, and pants in seersucker stripes, to classic polo shirts, tees, and sweaters, the NBC collection offers casual sophistication for every occasion.

And speaking of polos, I've got the Sankaty polo shirt, which is moisture-wicking and made from a quick-dry cotton-poly blend. It's got an athletic cut ideal for a round of golf (can't wait 'til spring), a tennis match, or just at the office (which is where I took the pic above).

As a tall guy (6'5") sometimes I have trouble finding shirts that fit well, but I don't have this problem with NBC! The material has a nice feel and isn't too heavy, so I imagine I'll be comfortable come summer time. Just four months to go...

This solid colored polo shirt comes in three colors - I like the red personally - and you can get it with or without the Nantucket Brand Clothing logo, a whale and compass. And I like logos, so naturally I gotta have that. There must be some term for an appreciation of logos...

My wife loves all things lavender and thinks the women's linen drawstring pants are really cute.

With a relaxed fit and straight leg silhouette, these drawstring pants offer a comfortable feel in soft, lightweight linen. You've got two front pockets, two buttoned back pockets, and wide belt loops. One thing to keep in mind - order a size up. My wife got one size up and the pants are just a bit snug. No complaints though.

Pair these linen pants with a t-shirt and sandals or maybe with wedge heels and a blouse for a casual evening look with a touch of coastal-inspired flair. The sandals look is my wife's go-to in the summer so I'm imagining many days of that.

However you decide to pair NBC's clothing, you can be assured that they'll reflect the Nantucket lifestyle - relaxed, casual, and comfortable.

You can visit the online shop or stop by their stores on Nantucket at 10 Federal Street (across from the post office) and at 54 Old South Road.

Who wants to win something?! The folks at Nantucket Brand Clothing have been gracious enough to offer a couple things:
  • One lucky Giveaway Guy reader will win a $100 gift card to the shop
  • A second reader will win three (3) pairs of red/white/blue ankle socks

Dogs taste the difference with Spot Farms [giveaway]

While browsing a few dog blogs, I came across a review for Spot Farms. It caught my eye because I'm a fan of all-natural things and I prefer to give my dog quality stuff whenever possible.

Spot Farms aims to make the best food and treats for your dog using the finest ingredients. They partner with farm families across the U.S to bring you the best chicken, turkey, and pork raised without antibiotics.

We take a lot of pride in the food we make and think your dogs will taste the difference!

Henry waiting for honey mango chicken jerky

I previously got my hands (or should I say paws) on a few varieties of dog treats. Spot Farms products are made with 100% all natural, human grade ingredients. This means the ingredients they use are certified fit for human consumption, but keep in mind the treats aren't for you to eat. They're for the dogs.

Set those dry pellet treats aside and consider something that's way better (and healthier) for your pet.

Henry about to leap from his sitting position

Additionally, all of the ingredients used are all natural. Artificial colors and preservatives are never used. Only the best for your dog.

And since the treats are made with human grade ingredients, that means you shouldn't store them for too long. As Henry would probably tell you, open up that bag soon and start handing out the treats.

I didn't realize this until I started looking at the details, but Spot Farms recommends refrigerating after opening to preserve freshness. You can probably get away without refrigerating as I have though.

Henry smells the chicken jerky in Jennifer's hand

We like to use jerky treats when we're outside, so when Henry obeys a command he's rewarded with a really good treat. It's harder to keep a dog's attention outside so that's why the dog gets the good stuff.

The other day we took Henry hiking around a reservoir and brought the honey mango chicken jerky along. After calling out to Henry and getting him to recall, he'd park his butt right down once we took the treat bag out. Good boy!

Jerky devoured in seconds!

Henry absolutely loves the Spot Farms jerky. We've given him other treat brands and he didn't quite take to some, but he doesn't hesitate to devour these treats. Spot Farms works closely with small family farmers who raise their chickens with care, and your dog will taste the difference just like ours has.

They offer a wide variety of all natural dog treats and ensure everything they make is chock full of things that are good for your dog. I highly recommend you give these a try for your furry friend.

Something else to consider is the line of whole grain and grain-free dog food. Spot Farms believes knowing where your dog’s food comes from is just as important as knowing what’s in it. They go right to the source, working with family farmers who feed their animals an all-vegetarian diet and never use antibiotics. Chock full of nutrients and bursting with flavor, the dog food recipes are made using only wholesome, human grade ingredients.

So who wants to reward their dog?! The folks at Spot Farms and I have partnered together to offer a prize package to one lucky Giveaway Guy reader:
  • Chicken jerky with flaxseed & vitamin E (big bag, 12.5 oz)
  • Chicken & sweet potato treats (big bag, 10 oz)
  • $10 Petco gift card

Make a shirt to order with Wry Toast Designs [giveaway]

My wife and I are in love with our Vizsla pup and I came across the Wry Toast Designs shop while browsing for Vizsla stuff.

Kelly is the owner of Wry Toast Designs, a life-long artist and professional graphic designer. She merges her talent with her love of dogs and lives in the Pacific Northwest. I've never been out there but I hear it's beautiful. Someday...

A decade ago Kelly decided to expand her horizons and design illustrations of dogs that are accurate, yet unique. Her goal was to create illustrations that would have you thinking, "Hey, that's my dog." And her Vizsla design definitely caught my attention.

Vizsla gaiting t-shirt in tangerine

Love your dog? You'll love all the original dog designs. The design I've got, a gaiting Vizsla, is hot pressed on the shirt with long-lasting and durable vinyl. The shirt is heavy weight, ring-spun, and garment dyed. It's a nice shirt for cooler weather since it's heavy.

The shirt is also pre-shrunk, which is something I specifically look for nowadays. Don't you hate it when you wash something and it shrinks? So frustrating, but not with Wry Toast Designs' shirts.

The shirt color shown above is tangerine. As is usually the case with online shopping, keep in mind that the colors represented will differ from one screen to another.

Vizsla gaiting t-shirt in yam. Photo quality isn't great - sorry!

The shirt I have is actually in yam - not tangerine, despite the similar look. Yam is kind of a rusty color and you might compare it to the University of Texas' burnt orange. I like yam because it's similar to my Vizsla's coat.

Oh, and the shirt fits true to size. I wear an XL and it fits exactly as expected.

Henry and his beautiful golden rust color

Most dog breeds are available in illustrations, but if you don't see the breed you're looking for you can request a breed. You can check out all designs at Wry Toast Designs Flickr.

If you don't want the design of a dog, there are also designs like this one:

Women's crew neck t-shirt

This women's shirt is hot pressed with long-lasting and durable metallic vinyl. Super-soft baby jersey knit. Lots of colors and styles available.

Make a shirt to order! Kelly of Wry Toast Designs has been gracious enough to offer one lucky Giveaway Guy reader ANY t-shirt from her shop.

Gnargly razor blade refills [giveaway]

Shaving is expensive, right? That's one of the reasons I only shave like once a week. Ever considered going the cheaper, generic route?

Let me introduce you to Gnargly, who make generic blade refills for Gillette products at affordable prices. If it works just as well as Gillette, then you might as well save a few bucks.

Generic blade refills for Gillette Fusion

Shown above is Gnargly's #1 premium blade, the Gnargly Pro, made to fit all Gillette Fusion handles.

The Gnargly Pro is great for sensitive skin, like that of my own, utilizing five thin blades and a lubricated strip to reduce pull while sliding over skin. The trimmer blade on back of the cartridge also allows for precise edging. These blades come in packs of four, eight, and 12.

Generic blade refills for Gillette Mach 3

Gnargly also offers the basic blade, which is made to fit all Gillette Mach 3 handles. Mach 3 is usually my go-to for shaving. The three blades and lubrication strip are designed to reduce skin irritation while providing a smooth glide. Generic Blades for Gillette products. These blades come in packs of four and eight.

To increase your savings, Gnargly's products are manufactured and shipped from China, so you'll need to allow 20 days for shipping. Orders are shipped via USPS ePacket, and tracking numbers can be provided upon request.

You want some blade refills?! The folks at Gnargly have been gracious enough to offer a 4-pack of Gnargly Pro blades to one lucky Giveaway Guy reader. These blades are refills for Gillette Fusion.

Star Wars figurines by SimplyPut18 [giveaway]

I've been on a Star Wars kick on the blog lately. Saw Rogue One a couple weeks ago and it was pretty good. Do you like the Star Wars movies?

Awhile back I came across some cool Star Wars figurines handmade by Trisha of SimplyPut18 on Etsy, and she's located in my home state of Massachusetts too.

Trisha has this to say about herself:
My favorite thing to do ever since childhood was crafting. It was something I could always go back to that allowed me to create and perfect whatever I put my mind to. The sense of accomplishment I get with every completion of a new craft, new blog entry or new vlog video has made me happier. The journey of getting there is the part I love to share in my videos.

All of her crafts, including the crochet Yoda shown above, are made in a dog-friendly home, and Trisha's Amigurumi projects are stuffed with recycled water bottles and fabric crafting scraps. Pretty cool that something that is typically thrown away is being reused...

Wait, what's Amigurumi?

Amigurumi is the Japanese art of crocheting small, stuffed yarn creatures, just like the ones you see in this post. The word is derives from the Japanese words ami, meaning crocheted, and nuigurumi, meaning stuffed doll.

Help Trisha continue to save the planet by reusing our resources for longer lasting love-ability!

How cool is that crochet Chewbacca? I should mention the crochet figurines are about five inches tall, or about the size of a sweet potato. Not a white potato - a sweet one. That's the best comparison I can make, ha!

Also, these little guys are meant for decorative purposes only. The Yoda in particular contains intricate details such as a pipe cleaner light saber, a yarn belt, and glass beads on the inside, so don't let your dog get a hold of one. Henry would chew it up if he got his paws on one. The figurines are great for displaying on a shelf, or if you're a super nerd, joining your Star Wars shrine.

So who wants a couple figurines?! Trisha of SimplyPut18 is graciously offering TWO Star Wars crochet figurines to one lucky Giveaway Guy reader - one Yoda and one Chewbacca.

Fiber Element bamboo sheets [giveaway]

A few weeks ago I had flannel sheets on the bed at home since it was pretty cold, but it's been mild lately and I've switched to bamboo sheets.

Let me introduce you to Fiber Element, which was started for three reasons: they believe in being eco-friendly, they believe in the importance of comfort, and they believe in affordable prices. These are all things I stand behind.

I've had the pleasure of trying the queen size bamboo sheets, which have turned me into a bamboo fan. The softness of Fiber Element's sheets far outweighs anything cotton can make.

When you buy a set, it includes a fitted sheet, a flat sheet, and two standard pillow cases. What you'd expect basically. The queen dimensions are as follows:
  • flat sheet – 94" x 106"
  • fitted sheet – 74.5" x 94.5" x 16"
  • pillow cases – 24" x 34"

If you take the time to research bamboo sheets online, you’ll notice that many of them cost upwards of $200. Fiber Element certainly does better than that.

They believe when the eco-friendly choice is affordable, it's much easier to make that choice. Fiber Element wants to help encourage making the eco-friendly choice, especially when you get quality of their bamboo sheets.

I love these sheets and they feel like luxury, which we really all deserve. We spend a third of our lives in bed, so think about that...

These sheets are an investment, and one that will last you a long time. I also own some bamboo towels and they're great. So much softer than your typical towel. Naturally they're a bit pricier than the bargain big stuff, but if you want to treat yourself, go bamboo.

So who wants some sheets?! The folks at Fiber Element have been gracious enough to offer up a set of bamboo sheets, in the size you want, to one lucky Giveaway Guy reader.

GOWEST fleece tug toys for dogs [giveaway]

Ever thought about fleece toys for your dog? Our Vizsla, Henry, is nearly five months old and we're just introducing him to fleece dog toys, which are very easy on the teeth.

And Henry's got a new favorite toy thanks to the craftsmanship of GOWEST!

In the GOWEST shop you'll find unique, handmade dog toys made of only fleece. Now that's a niche! Everything is handmade in the shop and uses soft, colorful fleece.

Your dog will love tugging and chewing on the GOWEST tug toys, as you'll see Henry does below. We throw it across the room and Henry fetches it to bring it back for more tug o' war.

Henry tugging with all his might

Doesn't Henry look like he's having fun? He likes to jump around and have a good time. The other night I put the fleece inside of an old package and opened it up in front of Henry like it was a new thing that just arrived. He went crazy for it.

Henry's about 25 pounds as of this writing, and I'd say the XL pull toy (the orange & black one) is ideal for medium to large dogs. At about 15 inches long, it's a great length for separation between your hand and the dog's mouth. This size is no doubt too much of a mouthful for small dogs, but GOWEST has smaller tugs too.

Henry wants to hang out with Jasper but Jasper's not interested

Henry will run around with the pull toy by himself, but he really likes to bring it to me so that I'll tug with him. Despite being made of fleece, the toy has proven to be pretty durable so far, and I'm a big fan. Furthermore, the fleece is easy on the teeth so I don't have to worry about damage or anything.

So who wants to treat their dog?! GOWEST is graciously offering a prize package to one lucky Giveaway Guy reader. The winner will receive:
  • one XL fleece tug
  • one large fleece tug
  • one fleece ring tug

Enter to win using the Rafflecopter form below. You may share on Twitter once a day for extra points for the duration of the giveaway.

Paracord dog leash from WhipWorks [review]

For the dog lovers who read this blog, here's another product worth your attention! I recently had the pleasure of getting my hands (or should I say paws) on a custom dog leash from WhipWorks.

Adam of WhipWorks specializes in making top quality dog leashes and whips. Everything is handmade and held to the highest of standards, and the paracord dog leashes in particular are really cool.

Orange and brown paracord dog leash

First, what is paracord? Paracord is essentially the cord originally used in the parachutes of soldiers in World War II. When soldiers landed on the ground, they cut the paracord off their parachutes and packed it up to use for strapping gear to harnesses, building shelters, and probably lots of other things I'd never think of.

Now, Adam's not a soldier that I know of, but if you're curious how to make a paracord dog leash, check out his video:

The video was recorded over three hours. If you have questions about what Adam's doing above, just send him a message! And if there's enough interest, he'll consider making a how-to tutorial. I know I'm interested...

Henry, our Vizsla, is enjoying his six-foot paracord dog leash, which is designed for dogs 60 lbs and under. Henry's just 25 pounds right now, but he'll be double that size in a few months. The color combo is brown and orange, which I picked since it kinda goes with the little guy's color.

Henry with his paracord leash

Six feet is a standard leash size for many dogs. The length keeps them close but also gives them a bit of space to roam. We're trying to train Henry to not pull on his leash, and instead walk with us rather than out in front of us.

Henry's got his eyes on the trail

The snap hook is durable, quick to use, and I dig it. Was that another dog pun? This is also a 100% vegan product.

The leash is obviously durable and a little bit on the rigid side, but I think it will soften over time too, making it truly one of a kind for you!
