Awhile back I came across some cool Star Wars figurines handmade by Trisha of SimplyPut18 on Etsy, and she's located in my home state of Massachusetts too.
Trisha has this to say about herself:
My favorite thing to do ever since childhood was crafting. It was something I could always go back to that allowed me to create and perfect whatever I put my mind to. The sense of accomplishment I get with every completion of a new craft, new blog entry or new vlog video has made me happier. The journey of getting there is the part I love to share in my videos.
All of her crafts, including the crochet Yoda shown above, are made in a dog-friendly home, and Trisha's Amigurumi projects are stuffed with recycled water bottles and fabric crafting scraps. Pretty cool that something that is typically thrown away is being reused...
Wait, what's Amigurumi?
Amigurumi is the Japanese art of crocheting small, stuffed yarn creatures, just like the ones you see in this post. The word is derives from the Japanese words ami, meaning crocheted, and nuigurumi, meaning stuffed doll.
Help Trisha continue to save the planet by reusing our resources for longer lasting love-ability!
How cool is that crochet Chewbacca? I should mention the crochet figurines are about five inches tall, or about the size of a sweet potato. Not a white potato - a sweet one. That's the best comparison I can make, ha!
Also, these little guys are meant for decorative purposes only. The Yoda in particular contains intricate details such as a pipe cleaner light saber, a yarn belt, and glass beads on the inside, so don't let your dog get a hold of one. Henry would chew it up if he got his paws on one. The figurines are great for displaying on a shelf, or if you're a super nerd, joining your Star Wars shrine.
So who wants a couple figurines?! Trisha of SimplyPut18 is graciously offering TWO Star Wars crochet figurines to one lucky Giveaway Guy reader - one Yoda and one Chewbacca.
