DEXDOG chest plate harness [giveaway]

If you have a dog that pulls when you walk or hike with them, you should probably use a harness. Hooking the leash to the dog's collar will put a lot of strain on their neck when they pull, which obviously isn't good.

But with a harness that wraps around the shoulders, the pressure is around the body rather than the neck. All this is moot though if you've managed to train your dog to heel. Wouldn't that be nice?

Our Vizsla is a puller, as many sport dogs can be. I recently had the pleasure of getting my paws on a chest plate harness from DEXDOG.

Henry the Vizsla wearing a chest plate harness

DEXDOG has been featured in a popular dog blogs and national publications, and their harnesses have consistently been rated and reviewed as some of the best dog harnesses on the market.

The chest plate of the harness is padded and layered with a breathable material that keeps you dog cool and comfy. I didn't think of this 'til just now as I'm writing this, but the harness would be great to use in the car. You just need some kind of attachment to clip to the harness.

So as you can see, Henry's got the blue chest plate harness. It comes in six different colors and priced at no more than $19.99 depending on the size.

Henry wonders where we're going with his harness on

Using the DEXDOG harness makes walking Henry a lot safer and it has a better feel on the leash as opposed to hooking up directly to his collar. When he pulls ahead or tugs in a random direction, he doesn't have discomfort. Plus I don't feel guilty if I have to tug on his leash and make him stop.

As for sizing, be sure to follow the DEXDOG size guide. Henry is 32 pounds and wears the medium harness. I took his measurements too, but if you can't do that then go by the weight of your dog.

So who wants to win something for the dog in your life?! DEXDOG is graciously offering a chest plate harness to one lucky Giveaway Guy reader. Your choice of color and size.

    1. Check out the size chart in this post. You'd have to choose the XL and it would be a good idea to take neck and girth measurements to be sure.
