Amazon gift card and fantasy author Mike Shelton

This next author will give you a story that's clean, adventuresome, and has a good ending...

Mike Shelton began writing stories in elementary school and moved on to larger novels in his early adult years.

He's worked in corporate finance most of his career. That, along with spending time with his wonderful family and obligations at church have made it difficult to find the time to truly dedicate to writing.

In the last few years as Mike's children have become older, he's returned to doing what he truly enjoys – writing. He loves to hear from readers about their favorite characters and what they liked or didn't like about his books, so let him know!

One little lie won't hurt, will it? What if every lie you heard or told caused you immense physical pain? TruthStone is the first book in The TruthSeer Archives.

Shaeleen must choose: Reveal the truth and stop the pain - or sacrifice her own well-being to protect her kingdom.

Given a rare TruthStone, Shaeleen struggles to control her new power and curb the pain. all the while learning a powerful truth that could thrust an entire continent into civil war.

For two hundred years the five kingdoms of Wayland have been protected by the stones of power. Now those stones are failing and a darker power is trying to take control. With the help of her brother, Cole and a newfound friend, Orin, Shaeleen sets out to gather and restore the power of all the stones.

But will she succeed before the endless lies destroy her?

For lovers of fantasy, magic, and far away kingdoms read the first book in the TruthSeer Archives and find out what a lie can do.

Still curious about the author? Time for an interview with Mike...

What inspires you to write?
I have always been interested in reading and writing. I enjoy stories that are clean, adventuresome, and have good endings - and so that is what I write.

How long does it take you to write a book, on average?
If I am writing a book full time, I will finish a rough draft in about 4-6 weeks, then there is a few months of editing that goes on before it is published.

What are you working on right now?
I have recently finished writing the last book in my current series, The TruthSeer Archives. Now I am going back and writing a follow-up series to my popular Alaris Chronices, which features dragons and young wizards.

What's the best writing tip you can offer?
The best writing tip I would be to just keep writing. The more books and stories you tell the more successful you will be - and then make sure you use a good editor! :)

What's a book written by another author everyone should read in their lifetime?
I have enjoyed so many good books throughout my lifetime. I primarily read fantasy and have enjoyed Robert Jordan, Brandon Sanderson, Terry Books, Terry Goodkind, Raymond Feist, and have recently discovered Jeff Wheeler and D.K. Holmberg, who I think write outstanding books!
